Family tourism on the north coast of Ibiza
You could say that Ibiza is divided into two: northern and southern parts. While the southern one is more popular for parties and crowds, the north is much quieter. It is precisely in the northern part that family tourism and active tourism are concentrated. There is also the S’Argamassa Palace, flooded in that familiar and quiet environment.
North of Ibiza: the family tourism side
Faced with the growing inclination towards adult tourism throughout the island, the northern area remains the part that welcomes more family tourism. It is where there are more offers of accommodation for families, among which is the S’Argamassa Palace. In addition, nature accompanies it with quiet beaches with all the necessary services to spend a good beach day with the family.
Among the long kilometers of the Ibizan coast, we highlight some beaches especially suitable for families:
Es Figueral: With shallow water, hammocks, parasols, services. 15 minutes by car from S’Argamassa Palace or by bus with line 16B.
Cala San Vicent: Sister of Es Figueral, also has shallow water, sand, hammocks, parasols, and different services. About 20 minutes by car from our hotel, or by bus with line 16C.
Cala Boix: Black sand and crystal clear waters, the top for lovers of small waves. It has a small beach bar that offers drinks, meals, and toilets. About 15 minutes by car from our S’Argamassa Palace.
Portinatx: about 25 minutes by car from our hotel, it is an area with 3 sandy beaches. All of them are easily accessible and surrounded by all services.
Recommendation: Active family tourism in Cala Aubarca
The further north we move, the more pronounced nature is. In the area of Santa Inés is the Sierra de’s Amunts. Kilometers and kilometers of forest crown the area that is popularly known as Curona (Crown in Ibizan). Behind the mountains, there are kilometers of cliffs that hide many roads to explore.
Cala Aubarca is one of the best-known areas for hiking in the north of the island. The path that goes down to the sea is ideal for families with children from 7 years. In addition, it must be taken into account that it is very important to carry a lot of water with you, as well as sun protection. The climb is somewhat pronounced, so we recommend calculating some rest times for the little ones.
